We're so excited to bring you a new way to interact and engage with the Recustom community for the High Holidays this year. For the first time ever, we're hosting three Learning Cohorts. These groups are geared toward underrepresented Jewish community members, and will create a safe and welcoming space for people to gather and explore Jewish rituals. Together, the groups will explore their collective creativity and take a deep dive into Jewish ritual-making, embraced by the power and spirituality of the High Holiday season.

Erin-Kate Escobar (they/them)
Learning Cohort for Jewish people who identify as Queer
Meet Erin-Kate Escobar, A Ritual Architect. 🌈✨ They’re a Queer, nonbinary, Jewish Person of Color with a passion for creating meaningful rituals that make everyday life a little more magical. With a background in human development and social justice, they're all about empowering people to build the worlds they want to live in.
When they’re not crafting spaces of connection, you can find them basking in the great outdoors, tending to their community garden plot, or getting creative with paint, fabric, or a dance. And let's not forget their love for good food – both cooking and baking up tasty treats in the heart of Tongvaar AKA Los Angeles.
Ziggy Valdez (they/them)
Learning Cohort for Jewish people who identify as Latine
Ziggy Valdez is a Queer Mexican Jew who loves music, art, and their cat Barry! They recently moved to Los Angeles from San Diego to be an educator at Tzedek America, a Jewish nonprofit that leads educational social justice trips for teens and adults. When they are not working they are finding new coffee shops to read at, independent bookstores to explore, and record shops to file through.
Nandi Egber (she/her)
Learning Cohort for Jewish people who identify as a Person of Color
Nandi Egber is a professional textile artist, interior designer, and facilitator of art and healing workshops. Born in Paris and raised in the Southwest of France, Nandi is a Jew of Color with roots in Congo, Ivory Coast, and Martinique. Nandi received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Beaux-art d'Angers, and a Master's Degree in Interior Decoration from LISAA Paris School of Fashion. Upon graduating, Nandi began exhibiting her artwork in galleries across the U.S., in Paris, and in London. Nandi's artwork draws inspiration from Jewish wisdom and spirituality, and she blends that with her African heritage, to create unique pieces of work that reflect the dynamic overlapping of her identities. She is passionate about creating safe spaces for Jews with multiple identities to share and express their Judaism, and often brings creative arts practices into her sessions to help participants build community, and find connection. Nandi's goal is to build bridges, and inspire harmony, justice, and peace in her workshops.
