Who We Are

Recustom, formerly known as Haggadot.com, is a pioneering nonprofit working at the intersection of tradition and innovation. We recognize that Judaism is a living, breathing tradition—one that must continually adapt to meet the diverse needs of contemporary Jewish communities. Our mission is to empower individuals to create, explore, and personalize Jewish rituals in authentic and meaningful ways. That’s why we created our new mix-and-match platform, allowing Jewish and Jew-ish individuals from all backgrounds to build customized, and personalized Jewish rituals that speak to the meaningful moments throughout their lives. 

Our Approach

We believe ritual shouldn’t be about rigid adherence, but rather personal connection and creative engagement. By providing a robust content library and an easy-to-use software platform combined with supportive communities and connection, we help people reimagine Jewish traditions through a lens of lived experience and cultural relevance. We welcome playfulness, reject perfection, and celebrate the infinite ways individuals can honor their Judaism.

2024: A Year of Transformation

2024 was a pivotal year of internal reflection and strategic expansion for Recustom. We shifted our focus beyond holiday-specific rituals to develop a revolutionary mix-and-match ritual technology that supports life's full spectrum of moments. Launched in September, our new platform not only empowers individual users to blend content across personal milestones but also provides Jewish institutions with a powerful tool to leverage innovative ritual-making technology. Now, organizations can easily customize and deploy our flexible platform, making ritual design more accessible and approachable across the Jewish community. 

By the Numbers: 

• • More than 650,000 people explored our robust content library of Jewish rituals for all of life’s key moments
  • Over 35,000 people crafted personalized Passover Seders through our DIY Haggadah platform

We also prioritized creating deeper community connections, experimenting with innovative ways to bring ritual-makers together, and providing supportive spaces for shared exploration and personal growth. This year marked a significant evolution in our approach—transforming from a holiday-focused resource to a comprehensive ritual-design ecosystem that meets people wherever they are in their personal and cultural journeys.

By the Numbers: 

• • 7 individuals who identify as a Jew of Color joined us for an intimate 6-week deep-dive into ritual-making, generously supported by the Jews of Color Initiative. The ritual book they published became our most downloaded book in 2024. 
  • Nearly 100 interfaith families reimagined Hanukkah traditions as part of our first-ever Hanukkah Parents Connection Group.
  • 80+ individuals deepened their High Holiday understanding and practice through virtual High Holiday learning experiences.

Creating Meaningful Moments

At Recustom, it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about providing tools that help people connect with tradition in ways that feel authentic, playful, and deeply personal. It’s about allowing people to leverage their Judaism to celebrate life’s milestones, no matter how big or small. By removing the pressure of "perfection" and embracing creativity, we're helping Judaism remain vibrant, relevant, and inclusive.
